I think Gustafsson deserves a shot at Jones if he beats Shogun. Certainly he deserves it more than Sonnen! I'm concerned he may not be 100% on Shogun, but it's still a reasonable thing for him to say.

His technique is solid before he gets winded, and sometimes goes out the window if you get him into a slugfest. But i see the biggest advantage for AG will be speed.

I think if he finishes Gunny then he deserves the shot, if he doesn't then let's see what happens with hendo vs Machida. I don't take "looking past" opponents too serious. We ate on the outside where it looks like a great reason for a loss....

You're right, I forgot about Hendo vs. Machida! Let's see how both these go before saying one or the other should be for the title shot.

Come on, snuff. You know Shogun's technique isn't that great. It's solid but as someone said above, it can get crappy REALLY fast.

Personally, I like Gus' chances but if he hasn't learned how to utilize his height/reach a little better then he's done for.

It's crazy that Jon Jones has such orangutang-like arms to have a ten-inch advantage on a guy of similar height. Either that or Gus' has some freakin' T-Rex arms.

AG has been pretty much a finishing machine in the ufc. His wrestling was a glaring weakness as Phil D showed, but right after that loss AG started training with Phil and his TDD has looked improved since. In his only dec W ver Thiago he used his reach superbly. I'm picking AG in 2

the timing could work out perfectly, barring injuries, to have a mini tourney before bones and sonnen fight in Apr. AG/gunny winner vs Glover/Page winner That winner vs the winner of machida/hendo for the title shot.
